Shacklett Insurance Team and the San Antonio Food Bank Initiate Cooperative Charity Venture to Feed Local Homeless and Underprivileged Families
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- Shacklett Insurance Team, a locally owned insurance firm with offices that serve communities in and around San Antonio, is initiating a joint charity drive with the San Antonio Food Bank with the goal of providing food and grocery products to underprivileged, hungry families throughout the San Antonio area.
The San Antonio Food Bank feeds nearly 60,000 people on a weekly basis, with one in four of these recipients being children and one in five being a senior struggling with food insecurity. SAFB serves more than 500 partner agencies across 16 counties throughout Southwest Texas, and carries forward the mission of fighting hunger through reliable food distribution programs, community education, and volunteer advocacy.
“The San Antonio Food Bank does more good in a day than most charities do in a month,” says Alfred Shacklett, owner and principal of the Shacklett Insurance Team. “Providing food for hungry families, children, and seniors is a community effort, and we’re looking for support our fellow community members.”
Shacklett and his team are already mobilizing significat resources to advocate for the efforts of the San Antonio Food Bank and to generate donations that will be used to provide groceries to those in need. The team is also constructing an online social media presence, and predicts that their efforts will pull in even more support from other nearby communities and from families throughout Texas.
In addition to assisting the San Antonio Food Bank to gather donations and continue providing for underprivileged community members, Shacklett and his team work closely with a number of other local charities as part of an ongoing community involvement effort, and plan to continue working with at least one new local charity every 30-60 days.
