Shaggy’s Restaurants Give 10% Off to Guests who Donate to Thanksgiving Food Drive
(PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- Shaggy’s has announced the kickoff of their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to collect food for those in need. “To boost participation, we will reward our guests with a 10% discount on their Shaggy’s food orders when they donate $5 worth of quality non-perishable food,” says Ron Ladner, Shaggy’s Co-Founder. “We want to give the community an incentive to help us make Thanksgiving a special day for several families who need our help,” he added.
“We’ll make this a fun competition between all 3 restaurants to get more activity,” says Khara Whitman, Director of Restaurant Operations. “The location that brings in the most items will get a special reward at their Christmas Party,” she added. “Our goal is 2,000 items combined—we think this is a level that will make a real difference.”
Whitman was at the Pensacola Beach location Saturday and was thrilled with the early customer feedback when she explained the program. “We had a table in from Andrews Institute who guarantee a victory for Shaggy’s Pensacola Beach,” she said. “They feel like part of the team, and want to help.”
“Several guests we spoke to Sunday seemed eager to help us with the food drive,” says Biloxi Assistant Manager Ava Gazzo. “The employees are excited. It’s going to be fun!”
Drop off locations will be: Shaggy’s Pass Christian, in Pass Christian Harbor, where all food will be donated to Saint Vincent De Paul; Shaggy’s Biloxi Beach, 1763 Beach Blvd., where all food will be donated to Feed My Sheep; and Shaggy’s Pensacola Beach, where all food will be donated to the Santa Rosa Kids House.
“Our employees are really on board and excited about this. It gives them a chance to participate in something special,” says Ladner. “This is a big part of our culture and who we are…helping others in need. I couldn't imagine a better way to get into the holiday spirit.”
