Shashita D. Nand Appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for Nanuku Auberge Resort, Fiji

Nand was named director of sales and marketing for Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji, according to resort General Manager Karen Taylor who announced the new appointment this month. “Ms. Nand has impressive credentials, and is a valuable asset to our senior management team. Her extensive background, knowledge of Fiji as a destination, coupled with her sales and marketing experience, strong profile and her impressive global contact base makes her an ideal candidate for the role and provides us with an excellent fit,” says Taylor. For more than 20 years, Ms. Nand has represented prestigious hotels and resorts in Fiji, Australia, Tahiti and Thailand. In her new position, she takes immediate responsibility for all aspects of the luxury all-pool residence boutique resort’s marketing and sales strategy.
A Fijian national, Ms. Nand will be based in Australia, and will be working with Australian-based World Resorts of Distinction and California-based Auberge Resorts Collection to build the Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji brand internationally. Prior to her appointment, Shashita built her reputation as Director of Sales & Marketing working with several international hotel chains in Australia, Fiji and Thailand. She was Director of Sales for Avista Hotels & Resorts in Thailand where she oversaw Australia, New Zealand and the Canadian market.
Her experience includes working as a director with Pivotal Marketing Services where she represented the iconic Treasure Island Fiji. Other key Fiji resorts where she was served as both Director of Sales and Marketing include Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, and
Vomo Island Resort.
Ms. Nand’s accolades include the Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific “Director of Sales & Marketing of the Year” award presented in 2011 in recognition of her efforts while DOMS at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island.The accomplished industry leader is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific where she holds a diploma in Tourism Studies. She also holds accounting credentials from Petersham TAFE in Sydney, Australia. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, gardening and music.
