Sheffield School Changes Name to New York Institute of Art and Design
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 27, 2013 -- The Sheffield School this week changed its name to the New York Institute of Art and Design. At the same time, it was merged with the New York Institute of Career Development, adding two home-study courses in Professional Blogging and Fiction and Memoir Writing.
The name change signifies a new focus for the school, which has provided home-study courses in the creative arts since 1985.
“The New York Institute of Art and Design better captures who we are what we offer to the thousands of students around the world that are enrolled with us,” says Sandra Darien, the School’s Registrar. “We will continue to focus on helping students pursue their creative passions and help them launch their careers in these areas.”
The New York Institute of Art and Design now offers six home-study certificate courses for creative professionals. The courses are The Complete Course in Interior Design, The Complete Course in Wedding and Event Planning, Jewelry Design: Beading and Wire Working, Feng Shui Interior Design, The Complete Course in Professional Blogging, and the Complete Course in Fiction and Memoir Writing.
The New York Institute of Art and Design’s directors are Jay Johnson and Jacob Boller. Jay has been with the Sheffield School as Director of Education since 2011. Jacob Boller has been with the Sheffield School since 2005 as the Director of Operations. The rest of the staff and faculty remains the same.

The New York Institute of Art and Design was founded in 1985. The original name of the school was the Sheffield School of Interior Design. Later, the school added courses in Wedding Planning, Feng Shui, and Jewelry Design. And in 2013, the Sheffield School changed its name to the New York Institute of Art and Design.
