Sherry Li Hosts Dinner For Chinese Community and Republican Nominee Candidates
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Saturday, October 14, 2017, Flushing, NY -- Sherry Li, CEO of China City of America and Thompson Education Center, hosted a dinner event located at the Asian Jewels Restaurant in Flushing, New York.
Republican Party Representatives were the key note speakers: Edward Cox, Chairman of the Republican State Committee, Nicole Malliotakis, Assemblywoman and Republican Candidate for New York City Mayor, Michael Faulkner, Republican Candidate for New York City Controller and Allan Wai-Ket Fung, Mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island and Republican Candidate for Governor of Rhode Island.
Edward Cox, Chairman of the Republican State Committee opened with comments to the guests, "The Chinese community is an entrepreneurial community, it believes in less regulations, lower taxes and the freedom and opportunity and good educational policies that permit people to rise to their best level."
New York City Mayoral Candidate Nicole Malliotakis stood strong "As Mayor I've said that I will restore the quality of life, I will work to bring our infrastructure into the 21st century, address our homeless crisis, improve our schools and make them safe and work with the governor to finally fix our subways. Allan Fung, Mayor of Cranston and Governor Candidate of Rhode Island State, planned to make Rhode Island received the same business development opportunity as other states. As a second generation of immigrant whose parents work hard to pursue the American dream, he stated, "I want to give back to the city that gives so much to my family" and "make our state more business friendly, cutting taxes, especially the sales tax, make sure we are competitive with all neighbor states."
The dinner was attended by over 200 guests including local media. Sherry Li was honored and excited to show her support for the candidates and encouraged the attendees to do the same.
Sherry Li has hosted several similar dinners and events to support the Republican State Committee. In addition, she has hosted numerous events showing her support for the Chinese Community, especially in Flushing -- it only made sense to join the two groups together.
Thompson Education Center project will help create many jobs and stimulate the local economic development. Numerous jobs will be created throughout each phase of the entire project, such as real estate agents, professors, instructors, and workers, etc. Aside from the jobs directly created from the project and the daily operations on the location, there will be a ripple effect throughout the community. Thompson Education Center is about to be completed in Town of Thompson. The project will build a high-end education community in Sullivan County, New York. According to the economists' employment report, the project can create 2006.4 jobs per phase. The project has received strong support from local governments, institutions, small businesses and residents.
