Sherwood is First City in Oregon to Launch Advanced Financial Reporting Platform
Sherwood, OR (PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- The City of Sherwood and OpenGov.com announced the deployment of a powerful new tool that visualizes the city’s financial data. By leveraging the OpenGov.com open budget platform, citizens and staff can use the web-based software to enhance access, understanding, and analysis of the city’s annual budget.
“Providing access and information to the residents of Sherwood has been a priority for our city,” said Sherwood City Manager Joseph Gall. “OpenGov’s software is a cost-effective way to promote understanding and build trust with our community.”
The public is invited to explore the tool on the City’s web site http://www.sherwoodoregon.gov/, or directly at http://sherwoodor.opengov.com/.
"The City of Sherwood is raising the bar in local government and breaking new ground in the state of Oregon by being the first to bring their finances to life,” said Zachary Bookman, CEO and co-founder of OpenGov.com "By making its financial data easily accessible for citizens and staff, the city deepens the bond with its community and gives meaning to the data.”
Gall initiated the partnership after learning about OpenGov.com at the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) Annual Conference in Boston in September of 2013.
“With our open budget site, Sherwood’s expenses and revenues are available from anywhere at any time and easy to follow,” Gall said. “We look forward to expanding our financial transparency with our new partners at OpenGov.com”
