Shift4 and Celerant Technology Announce Joint EMV Solution for Retailers
LAS VEGAS and NEW YORK (PRWEB) December 07, 2016 -- Payment gateway provider Shift4 Corporation and Celerant Technology Corporation, a retail management software system provider, today announced the general availability of their joint EMV-certified solution for omnichannel retailers.
The solution includes:
• Layered payment security: EMV helps prevent the fraudulent use of stolen card data in card-present environments. With Shift4’s DOLLARS ON THE NET and Celerant’s Command Retail platform, retailers can process EMV payments while adding the layered security of point-to-point encryption (P2PE) and tokenization. This keeps sensitive cardholder data out of the merchant’s payment processing environment, greatly reducing their breach profile and PCI scope — and protecting their customers’ payment data from hackers.
• Thirteen supported devices: Shift4 currently supports a variety of EMV-capable terminals by Ingenico Group and Verifone, with options for USB, serial, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows retail environments to easily implement EMV within their current operations.
• Bank and processor neutrality: Shift4 is currently certified for EMV with eight major processors in the U.S. and Canada — with more on the way — delivering unparalleled coverage of acquirers in North America and the Caribbean. This enables retailers to adopt EMV without changing their financial relationships and gives them the freedom to negotiate the best payment processing rates or make a switch if needed.
Michele Salerno, director of sales/marketing and assistant vice president, Celerant, said:
“Celerant is committed to providing retailers with integrated solutions that simplify a workflow. That’s why we decided to work with Shift4 on a comprehensive solution for EMV. With Command Retail and DOLLARS ON THE NET, retailers can implement EMV in a way that protects the customer experience, without causing a lot of hassle.”
Daniel Montellano, vice president of strategic business development, Shift4, said:
“Many merchants have been forced to adjust their infrastructure and business practices in order to implement EMV. At Shift4, we believe it should be the other way around. We’re proud to partner with Celerant to ensure that retailers are offered an EMV solution that adapts to fit within their current operations and meet their unique needs. In addition to the improved card verification that EMV offers at physical points of sale, merchants can truly secure their enterprise with Shift4’s tokenization and point-to-point encryption technologies, which are included in every EMV-certified integration we offer.”
