Shimadzu's New UF-Amino Station Provides High-Speed, Multi-Component Analysis of Amino Acids in Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical Testing
Columbia, MD (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has launched the UF-Amino Station, an LC/MS amino acid analysis system developed jointly with Ajinomoto Co. Inc. Offering simultaneous multicomponent analysis, the UF-Amino Station can analyze 38 amino acids in nine minutes, drastically enhancing laboratory throughput.
The UF-Amino Station achieves high-speed analysis utilizing a fast application-specific column and an LCMS-2020 mass spectrometer. The LCMS-2020 provides accurate analytical results even under conditions with difficult samples that contain a wide range of impurities. The system also automates the derivatization reaction, which eliminates the need for cumbersome manual pretreatment procedures, increasing the efficiency and reliability of test results.
The system features AmiNavi® software, which simplifies analysis for users. The dedicated software analyzes samples quickly and automatically identifies standard sample peaks, creates the calibration curve, and performs quantitation of sample solutions.
The UF-Amino Station is an excellent tool for the automated analysis of amino acid composition in food products such as meat and fermented foods that contain many impurity components. The increased speed also supports new applications such as real-time amino acid composition analysis in culture fluid. Additionally, the UF-Amino Station can provide an automated amino analysis system to comply with USP and EP testing.
