Shimmy, Limbo and Strut to Celebrate Miller Zell's 50 Years of Retail Design
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) March 03, 2014 -- Miller Zell will mark its 50th year in business at the annual GlobalShop conference by hosting a cocktail party honoring the company’s founder, Harmon B. “Sandy” Miller, and celebrating the firm’s growth from its beginning in 1964. Held March 18-20 in Las Vegas, GlobalShop is the world's largest annual event for retail design and shopper marketing.
Celebrating in Classic, Retro Style
“A Seriously Swank 1960s Cocktail Party” is the theme for Miller Zell’s anniversary event. The party will be held on March 19, from 8 to 11 p.m., at the Tropicana Las Vegas, in their newly debuted Havana Room. In true 60’s style, the party will feature live dance music and signature cocktails, as well as unique hors d’oeuvres. Original large scale graphics evocative of 1960s style, designed by Miller Zell’s own VP art director Paul Wolski, will be showcased. Guests can heat up the dance floor with “the Limbo, “the Shimmy” and “the Strut” while the band performs a medley of familiar favorites spanning the 60’s and onward.
The lavish glamour of the Tropicana’s Havana Room is the perfect setting to conjure the spirit of 1964. “It evokes the chic flavor of a Hollywood A-list supper club,” Wolski explained.
Finding the Perfect Venue
Miller Zell chose the Tropicana Las Vegas as the party’s venue because – like Miller Zell – the Tropicana has a rich history. Built in 1957, the Tropicana gained a reputation as a Las Vegas landmark and hosted the legendary, long-running “Follies Bergere” for 50 years. The Havana Room is the newest venue to open at the Tropicana Las Vegas, which has transformed through a recent $200 million renovation.
