SHINE Empowerment Conference Returns to Tampa, FL to Help Domestic Violence Victims and Returning Citizens Reach Success

The event is built around breaking barriers to success for victims of re-entry, reintegration, recidivism and domestic violence. The two-day conference takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa North, 13305 Tampa Oaks Blvd, Tampa, FL 33637. Friday, March 21, 2014 features a free Veteran and Returning Citizen Job and Resource Fair hosted in conjunction with reintegration experts Breaking the Cycle, Inc. (BTC) and Community Reintegration Consulting (CRC) 10:00am-2:00pm; a private VIP Networking Social from 3:00pm-5:00pm; and a Family Forum on Combating Recidivism 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Saturday, March 22, 2014, features several thought leaders, experts, presenters and keynote speakers who will share their stories of survival and how they are "Breaking Barriers to Success"! The main event features Kimothy Clark, author, entrepreneur, and ex-felon who shares the story behind his published works "Finesse in Da Game" a chronicle of what led to his lifestyle, hustle, downfall, and redemption. It also features Carolyn Hennecy, author, advocate, and domestic violence survivor. As a speaker, Carolyn informs, motivates and empowers victims and struggling survivors of abuse to see their options and potentials. She also educates and enlightens others, trying to eradicate the senseless emotional and mental damage, physical injuries, and far too often, deaths that occur as a result of abuse and domestic violence.
Opulence has created several award categories to highlight and honor great works locally, nationally, and internationally. The Global Service Award is reserved for individuals and organizations making a worldwide impact with their works. The 2014 recipient is Edmund Herman, Founder and CEO of Sisters in Harmony, Inc. In 2013, Sisters in Harmony, Inc., instituted an International Domestic Violence Initiative geared toward eradicating domestic violence in America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
