Shiner Law Group Announces Lawsuit Against Florida Career College, Inc. on Behalf of Local Student Allegedly Battered and Harmed During School Hours on School Premise
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) August 21, 2014 -- Personal injury firm Shiner Law Group announced today that it has filed a legal complaint on behalf of plaintiff Artisha Janay Clark against local Florida Career College, Inc., in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Court of Florida in Palm Beach County, Florida (Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, 502014CA008575).
According to court records (Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, 502014CA008575), Clark was a student enrolled with Florida Career College at the time she was allegedly injured by Cassie Larron Holness, another student at the school.
The legal complaint alleges that both Clark and Holness were on defendant’s school premises on or about October 13, 2013, when Holness allegedly committed harmful battery and offensive contact with Clark, “with the intent to inflict bodily harm and extreme emotional duress” upon the plaintiff.
Among several other counts, additional allegations by Shiner Law Group against Florida Career College include, but are not limited to, “failing to provide students with a safe environment,” “failing to supervise students during school hours,” failing to properly discipline and control allegedly dangerous students, as well as warning students and their families regarding these alleged dangerous students (Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, 502014CA008575).
“Our client did not ask for, nor consent to, the injuries she sustained while she was lawfully on school premises, during school hours,” David Shiner, Founding Attorney of Shiner Law Group and legal counsel to the plaintiff.
“We allege that Florida Career College failed to protect Ms. Clark from suffering mental and physical anguish while she was on school property,” says Shiner. “We further allege that the school also failed to take reasonable measures upon learning of Holness’ violent threats and aggression towards other students, including the plaintiff.”
“We intend to keep fighting for Ms. Clark’s legal rights, and intend to seek the proper punitive damages on her behalf with the court,” Shiner concluded .
