The lighting fixtures provided by ShineRetrofits.com will replace compact fluorescent lights that are currently in one of the exhibit’s berthing spaces. This donation is part of the museum’s goal to replace all fluorescent tubes currently on board with upgraded LED light tubes.
The sea, air and space museum is aboard the USS Hornet, a National and State Historic Landmark that preserves the legacy of the vessel. The ship played a key role in several U.S. wars, and serves as an epic reminder of American history for its part in naval aviation and defense. Perhaps most notably, the USS Hornet is known for picking up the Apollo 11 astronauts who crash landed in the Pacific Ocean back in 1969.
