I wanted to create a product that helps you take really great archive pictures without a $15,000+ camera or scanner. The sturdy, yet portable and lightweight nature of the SHOTBOX opens the door for many solutions that have been difficult or cumbersome to date. One doesn't have to be a serious genealogist to realize the value of taking a SHOTBOX to Grandma or Grandpa’s house to capture all the memories locked in their home or to other locations that documents and artifacts can’t be removed.
Any camera will work with the SHOTBOX whether it is a smart phone, tablet, DSLR or Digital Point-and-Shoot. The SHOTBOX is optimized for the smart devices to make it easy, fast and fun. “By going straight to a smart device, we utilize smart technology. Backup into the cloud is automatic and tasks that used to take many steps like faxing or scanning can all be done right on the phone or tablet”, says Johnson.
As one of the original inventors of the Cricut Electronic Cutter, Johnson’s 20+ year entrepreneurial career has centered around the craft, scrapbook and memory markets.
"I love the creativity and innovation of the craft and hobby industry. The first decade of my business focused on artwork and fonts from dozens and dozens of great artists. That all evolved into inventing the methodology and system surrounding the cartridge content and user interface of the Cricut. The Cricut was and still is an incredible product.” states Johnson. “The SHOTBOX extends beyond the boundaries of just the craft and hobby market. The outright need is for everyone.
