Showtime’s Emmy-Nominated “Homeland” Navid Negahban (Abu Nazir) Has Joined the Cast of "Carving a Life" Indie Film Produced by Life in Reels Productions LLC of San Diego
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2013 -- The film is directed by Navid Negahban’s long-time friend Terry Ross, who conducts actors workshops, showcases, and coaching at Acting Professionally in San Diego. Filming will begin October 29 in Julian, CA and continue through November and December at other locations throughout San Diego and Los Angeles. The cast are like family and most are advanced students or alumni of Terry’s. "Navid's character on Showtime's Homeland, Abu Nazir, is completely opposite to Navid's charming personality," says Terry Ross, long-time friend of Navid's and Director of Carving a Life.
The film stars San Diego independent film actor, Tyler Bruhn who has trained with Terry since he was 13 and had uncredited roles in films such as Bad News Bears remake, Rebound, and TV show The OC. Carving a Life, a drama and love story, follows the life of 25-year-old Mitch, an aspiring wood carving artist who struggles to overcome haunting memories from his past and alcohol abuse to save all that is precious to him.
Shamon Freitas Talent Agency in San Diego is working with Terry Ross to cast the love of Mitch’s life – Lauren, a sweet innocent elementary school teacher.
The cast and crew are like family, they have worked together on several other projects, and the producers are excited to have Paul Giret as Director of Photography, who is also President of San Diego City College Film Society and Film Director for the San Diego IndieFest.
Carving a Life is in its final days of a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter to raise money for production of the film, which starts on October 29.
