SI Restoration Reviews New Bill Set to Establish Mold Regulations in New Jersey

The legislation of the new bill A-3773 will ensure that practices like these become regulated by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (in conjunction with the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services). These regulations will set limits on mold exposure to residential and commercial buildings, careful investigation of the building in question, and determine standard practices for mold inspectors.
According to a statement made by Assemblywoman Riley on nj.com, “Mold can exacerbate health problems including asthma and allergies in children, and currently there are no standards to control its harmful potential.” Reputable remediation contractors will continue to exercise as many safeguards as possible before the bill is officially passed. In the meantime, it is up to property owners to investigate their contractor before hiring them and entrusting their services to their most valuable investment.
