Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) September 30, 2016 -- SiberName, an ICANN-accredited domain registrar, is adopting a proactive approach to the "inter-registrar" and "inter-registrant" domain transfer policy changes for gTLDs. First, it has created an FAQ page on its website to serve as a communication node to explain and discuss this new policy with its customers, re-sellers, and the public interested in domain names. Here's the link to the FAQ blog article: FAQ blog article on ICANN’s new policy.
(The FAQ is a work in progress and will be continually updated with additions and edits as new questions and information come in.)
SiberName is also emailing all its clients and re-sellers to make them aware of the changes within this new policy well before the scheduled date. It will also be providing links to the new ICANN forms.
The transition to this new policy will not be an easy one. That is why registrars like SiberName are informing their clients in advance. Before ICANN standardizes the cyber world there are still a few weeks left for registrants to update their contact information, change registration contacts, transfer domains to different registrars without a hitch.
ICANN’s new domain transfer policy is scheduled to be in effect from December 1st, 2016. After that date the domain transfer processes will become more rigorous, take more time, and may involve providing copies of documentation proving a registrant's identity. Previously, ICANN was focused on standardizing the process of “inter-registrar” domain transfers, but now, for the first time, it will now be standardizing “inter-registrant” transfers as well as “registrant information updates”.
