Sierra College CACT Provides Practical Problem Solving Training in Sacramento on October 8 & 22 for the Continuous Improvement Network
Rocklin, CA (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- Employees can learn Practical Problem Solving skills at the October 8 & 22 training conducted by Sierra College Center of Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) with the Continuous Improvement Network. The two-day course will be held at Rex Moore Electrical Contractors at 6001 Outfall Circle in Sacramento. The fee is $240 for CIN Members, $375 for Non-Members and $280 for Government. For organizations that are applying Lean Principles to improve productivity, problem solving skills are essential, explained Carol Pepper-Kittredge, CACT Director, Sierra College. “Participants in this workshop will learn a proven and structured problem-solving approach,” said Pepper-Kittredge. “Attendees will become acquainted with problem-solving frameworks, tools and techniques, and explore their practical application to address both technical and recurring day-to-day problems.”
Through interactive sessions, workshop attendees will learn how to apply Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) as well as the Lean tool, A3 (background, problem statement, goal statement, root cause analysis, counter measures, effect confirmation and follow-up actions).
The goal of the training is to provide participants with the understanding of problem solving tools and ways to apply them to drive office improvements, explained Jes Vargas, Sierra College CACT Trainer. “The two-day course will introduce a variety of problem solving models so they can confidently select the ideal process to address workplace issues that are impeding efficiency,” said Vargas. “They will also learn how to ‘frame’ a problem to gain support and buy-in from others in the organization.”
