Sifting Through the Data: Energy Efficiency Professionals Convene in NYC to Examine the Best Approaches to Benchmarking and its Implications
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- With the release of the NYC Benchmarking Report, more and more data has become transparent and comparable than ever before, giving property managers and building owners a critical starting point for identifying ways to prioritize projects, reduce energy consumption, and decrease costs. Throughout the 4000 buildings in its portfolio, DCAS has already overcome key challenges and completed several energy efficiency retrofit and audit projects that go beyond the compliance of Local Law 84 and US DOE’s Portfolio Manager NYC. Enhanced public disclosure then allows policymakers and utilities to develop new incentive programs to enhance energy efficiency in not only public buildings like these, but private ones as well.
To this end, companies like UtiliSave have developed advanced data analytics systems that achieve significant savings on utility bills. Michael Steifman of UtiliSave stated, “We are excited to be able to participate in the upcoming session on Green Building Benchmarking and the Role of Data in EE.” We hope to be able to not only enrich our perspective, but our role in helping others benefit from Benchmarking. As a company that manages big data for thousands of buildings on a daily basis, we continuously seek ways to build upon our proprietary analytics to ensure the accuracy of the information that we collect to identify billing/usage issues and savings opportunities so that proper measures can be taken and results achieved, on an on-going basis”
At AGRION, our goal is to tackle barriers to implementing energy efficiency technologies by assembling green building and energy efficiency industry experts in a dynamic series of roundtable discussions. Attendees at this roundtable will explore data outcomes, the financial implications of performance, and the best approaches building owners can take to increase their scores.
The Green Building Benchmarking & the Role of Data in Energy Efficiency Roundtable will be held at The Markle Foundation at 10 Rockefeller Plaza, 16th Floor, New York, New York.
