Signet Development Announces New $35 Million Heath & Wellness Center in Bloomington IL. Integrated Wellness Partners To Manage Third Facility.
Akron, Ohio (PRWEB) April 02, 2015 -- Signet Development, one of the country’s premier developers of both public and private real estate projects has announced the development of a $35 million state-of-the-art health and wellness facility in Bloomington, Il.
The center is a partnership between Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, McLean County Orthopedics, Method Sports Performance, and Sequoia Wellness, the management arm of Signet’s Integrated Wellness Partners (IWP). Advocate Healthcare is the largest health system in Illinois and has been named among the nation’s top 5 large health systems based on quality.
The partnership represents IWP’s third wellness venture, following facilities now operating at NEOMED in Rootstown, Ohio and in New Albany, Ohio, a partnership with The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center. Integrated Wellness Partners will have more than 100 employees when the Advocate Health Health & Wellness Center opens in 2016. Signet’s Health and Wellness Center projects now exceed more than $145 million in total investment. The Center for Integrated Wellness will bring together multiple health and wellness services into a new 105,000 square foot facility to help the community get healthy and stay well. The center will consist of a medically-based fitness center, a sports performance institute, an imaging center, an orthopedic center of excellence, physician offices, and a community education area.

In addition to its development, Signet financed and will manage the new center, which will be located adjacent to the Advocate BroMenn Outpatient Center, across from the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington. A ground breaking ceremony will take place at the site on May 18, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. The facility is scheduled to open in Fall, 2016.
The Advocate BroMenn Health & Wellness Center will be managed by Sequoia Wellness and will include cardiovascular equipment, group exercise studios, an aquatics area, free weights and locker rooms. Different from a traditional fitness center, a medical-fitness center includes preventative health and wellness programs, helps participants manage health conditions, and recuperate from injuries or illness. Nurses and doctors from Advocate BroMenn Medical Center will be involved in patients’ activities.
The Center for Integrated Wellness will also serve as the new headquarters for McLean County Orthopedics, the largest orthopedic practice in McLean County, allowing them to consolidate operations into a central location.
The final component of the new center is Method Sports Performance, a physician-owned sports performance institute operated by physicians from McLean County Orthopedics. Method Sports Performance will bring a unique approach to improving the performance of athletes from across the Bloomington and Central Illinois community.
