Silverback Learning Solutions Partners with IASA to Launch Statewide Instructional Management Consortium to Enhance Personalized Learning
Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- Silverback Learning Solutions (http://www.silverbacklearning.com), a pioneering K-12 education technology company and developer of the Mileposts™ personalized learning platform, in partnership with the Idaho Association of School Administrators (http://www.idschadm.org), announces the Idaho IMS Consortium, a unique collaborative approach to supporting public education in Idaho. With a focus on driving positive outcomes for student growth and instructional effectiveness, multiple organizations have joined forces with Silverback and IASA, including Boise State University’s Leads Learning Network, AdvancED Idaho, Idaho Digital Learning Academy, and Gooru to offer a thoughtful and holistic education solution.
The launch of the Idaho IMS Consortium sets the stage for a substantial personalized learning cadre impacting more than 150,000 students. President of AASA, Dan Domenech, explains, “Silverback has the largest single cadre of districts all on one personalized learning platform in the nation." By combining advanced data management and open education resources to individualize instruction along with professional development opportunities to give educators and administrators the in-depth knowledge needed to effectively implement, this cohesive system reinforces educational requirements and values established by the leading state education organizations and the Idaho legislature. While specific to Idaho, the initiative represents a sound, education partnership model that is easily replicated by any state in the nation.
“The Consortium reflects the growing trend in collaboration and outside-the-box thinking that is rapidly changing the face of education in this country,” said Dr. Jim Lewis, CEO of Silverback Learning. “Partnering with IASA represents a significant milestone for Idaho educators as well as the educational ideals our company is dedicated to achieving. We look forward to rapidly establishing more state consortiums to support personalized learning and increased student achievement nationwide.”
Measuring what matters and providing a quality education for every student, including those in rural communities, while empowering educators with access to high-quality Open Education Resources (OER) and supportive professional development opportunities drives the Consortium’s work with national and state partners.
“The Cassia School District is excited to be part of the Idaho IMS Consortium, said Dr. Gaylen Smyer, Superintendent, Cassia County School District. “The consortium provides personnel in this district with greater access to products and support. Similarly, the consortium creates an inter-district network where education practitioners share experiences, ideas, and solutions that directly impact classroom instruction and ultimately increase student achievement.”
The IASA (Idaho Association of School Administrators) collaborated with Silverback Learning to establish the Consortium as one way to support the organization's regionally diverse school districts. Executive Director, Rob Winslow, said, “Silverback Learning has a long and successful relationship with Idaho school districts, and we are proud to be a partner in the Idaho IMS Consortium. The collaboration is a win for our schools, our educators, and most importantly, our students, who are often educated in small rural communities and who up to now, did not have access to the best products and services afforded those attending larger, suburban and urban districts. “
