Daniela Taitel, Deputy Director of Facilities and General Administration at a NYC cultural institution and Heidi Raker, founder of Raker Goldstein, a public relations agency, bring a wealth of development, communication and programming prowess to Sim Shalom's growing organization. Sim Shalom is an interactive online Jewish Universalist synagogue that is liberal in thought and traditional in liturgy. According to Sim Shalom founder Rabbi Steven Blane, Daniela's and Heidi's passion and spiritual connection to Judaism coupled with their experience and skills will not only benefit the board but strengthen the global Sim Shalom community.
Daniela and her family originally found Sim Shalom as unaffiliated congregants searching for a place to celebrate the High Holidays. Inspired by the warmth and accessibility of the services they have been regular online congregants ever since. It is this experience and understanding of the role a virtual synagogue offers to both affiliated and unaffiliated congregants as expressed by Daniela that will enhance Sim Shalom. “I’ve always thought of Sim Shalom as a safe haven.
