SimpleCAD’s P&ID Symbols Library for AutoCAD Now Ships With 200 + AutoCAD Blocks

(PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- SimpleCAD updated its P&ID Library for AutoCAD which now includes 220 symbols and is compatible with recent release of AutoCAD 2015.

Also added to their P&ID offerings is a Mac OSX version for AutoCAD plus a LT version is also available.

P&ID's (an acronym for Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) are simple engineering equipment symbols that can be inserted into a drawing to show an entire piping flow process diagram from start to finish.

P&ID Symbol Library consists of a total of 220 symbols following the ANSI/ISA–5.1–1984 (R1992) standard. A pull-down menu organizes the P&ID symbols into the following categories:

  • Piping
  • Tanks
  • Equipment
  • Valves
  • Valve operators
  • Process and Signal Line Types
  • Flow elements
  • Pumps & Blowers
  • Instrumentation & Electrical
  • Annotation

SimpleCAD states the only requirements are you must have AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT. The CAD company also provides a trial download and a video is also available which explains how to access the various menus and P&ID symbols.
