Single Men and Women Who Date Frequently Have Higher Chances of Divorces - Divorce Expert Says
(PRWEB) October 27, 2013 -- According to this year's report by United Nations Statistics Division which surveyed 200 countries, America ranks #6 in the world for divorce rate.
Recent report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that the ratio of new marriages to divorce is 2 to 1. That means, for every 2 new marriages that occur, there is 1 divorce case happening.
This is one of the highest numbers recorded in the US.
Why is the divorce rate so high despite living in a country that is known to have no shortage of information or education resources?
"We have knowledge of various technologies and sciences. But there is a lack of understanding of what marriage is all about." explained marital expert and bestselling author Hellen Chen from Los Angeles, California.
"There is this idea that one has to date for a number of years first to check out if someone is suitable for you or not. But what is missing in this assessment is that even if that person seems 'suitable' now, he or she may change ten years later well into the marriage." said Chen in an iHeart radio interview, "So are you going to change your spouse every 10 years just because he or she changed?"
There was another statistics from the CDC that showed 2nd and 3rd marriages are even more prone to divorces that 1st marriages.
Chen, having worked with many men and women who had faced divorces, found that constant dating and changing of partners prior to getting married would cause havoc for the longevity of a marriage afterwards. Some singles have gotten so used to the notion of "switching partners" in search of someone else better than their ex's that during actual marriage, they often choose to give up the relationship in the face of hardships.
