Sit ‘n Sleep and Serta Partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to Provide Mattresses for All Homes Completed in 2015
Gardena, CA (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- Iconic Southern California mattress retailer Sit ‘n Sleep, along with leading mattress manufacturer Serta, announced their 2015 partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA). Both companies will provide new mattresses, bedframes, and box springs to every Los Angeles Habitat for Humanity client and their family in 2015
“We’re thrilled to offer our ongoing support to our partners at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles,” said Larry Miller, CEO, Sit ‘n Sleep. “Sleep is critical to a family’s health and happiness; we hope these mattresses will offer comfort to these deserving, low-income families as they move into their new homes.”
Sit ‘n Sleep and Serta will kick off their partnership by sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity build day on April 16 in Lynwood, California. Once complete, this building will be home to seven Los Angeles families and all bedrooms will be outfitted with new Serta mattress sets. Employees from Sit ‘n Sleep and Serta will be rolling up their sleeves to contribute to the construction process, along with Habitat for Humanity’s dedicated staff and partner families.
“We’re proud to provide these mattresses to complete each new homeowner’s residence,” said Andrew Gross, senior vice president of marketing for Serta. “These families have worked so hard to get where they are today, and it is an honor to partner with Habitat for Humanity to outfit each new home with a comfortable place to sleep. We hope the donation will help each family’s house feel more like a home.”
Habitat LA is committed to providing their local partner homebuyers “with a hand up, not a handout.” Habitat partner families and individuals pay back a zero-interest mortgage and contribute 200-500 hours of sweat equity by volunteering with Habitat LA.
“We’re so grateful for the generous donation made by Sit ‘n Sleep and Serta this year,” said Erin Rank, president/CEO, Habitat LA. “The families we help know the meaning of hard work and we’re so happy to be able to bring extra support and assistance to our first time homeowners thanks to this generous donation. We cannot thank Sit ‘n Sleep enough for their long-term partnership over the past three years and their commitment to Habitat for Humanity and our partner families.”
