Six-Word Memoirs for Schools and HamiltonBuhl Introduce New Caption Contest for Students
Fairfield, New Jersey (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- HamiltonBuhl, an innovator of Educational Technology and Presentation Equipment, is pleased to announce a Monthly Caption Contest. The Six-Word Memoir Caption Contest promotes teacher and student interaction, while using a kids safe website to create a Six-Word Memoir caption to best describe a posted photograph. The first contest is based on the photo of the Monks with cell phones attached. To enter the contest teachers must register their class at http://www.sixwordmemoirs.com/schools. Although no purchase is necessary, this contest may be enhanced by the Six-Word Memoir Workbook available through school supply resellers nationwide.
A Six-Word Memoir is the story of your life or some part of it or life's observations – told in exactly six words. Using this Six-Word Memoir concept, created by New York Times best-selling author Larry Smith, Teachers and Students can develop their own Six-Word Memoir about the monthly posted photo. As an additional creative writing exercise, students can also develop their own backstories based on the photo of the month and post it all for their friends and families to see. With the Six-Word Memoir website, students and teachers can also see the entries posted from other students around the country or sort by their school, city or state.
In classrooms and schools across the country, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation and spark imagination. The new Six-Words for Schools Interactive Workbook takes that creative process even further, introducing students to various types of writing, expressive activities, and focused messaging techniques. “I am very excited about our new partnership with HamiltonBuhl, it gives Smith Publishing a direct channel into the schools,” commented Larry Smith publisher of Smith Magazine.
The Six-Word Memoir Caption Contest winner will be selected monthly by a panel of teachers and HamiltonBuhl will be donating various technology products, like listening centers, headphones, cameras and iPad accessories to the winning classroom/school. Also, the winning classroom/school will receive a full class set of Six-Words For Schools workbooks for every student in the class.
