Check the thermostat, make sure it is set to cool and the temperature setting is below room temperature. Adjust if necessary. Check for air flow, is air coming out of the grilles? If not, check to make sure nothing is blocking the return or supply grilles. Check the indoor unit, is it running? If not, check the following: make sure the furnace door is on and secure; make sure the furnace is plugged in or the furnace toggle switch has not been turned off.
Check the outdoor condensing unit to see if it is running. If not, turn the unit to the off position at the thermostat. Then at the main breaker panel, reset the air conditioning breaker by turning the breaker off, and then back on. At the thermostat, turn the unit back to cool. If, the unit does not come on within five minutes of resetting the breaker or the breaker trips again, call Arctic Comfort for service.
If unusual noises are heard coming from the outdoor condensing unit or indoor unit (humming, buzzing, rattling, etc.) turn the unit off at the thermostat. After performing these checks and the system is still not working, please call Arctic Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning at 972-530-8384.
