Small & Associates Inc. Real Estate Kicks Off 2014 With Renovation in The Fan Neighborhood of Richmond, VA

Smith's newest renovation, located at 1109 West Ave., is due to hit the market in March. Richmond real estate broker Chris Small, has been working with Smith on finding and marketing his renovation projects since late 2011. It will be the 10th property the two have collaborated on in the past two years. The house at 1109 West Ave. is located on one of the most unique streets in The Fan neighborhood.
“Right now I am really excited about [1109] West. It’s a really cool house on a great block of the city,” Smith said. “We’re doing a large family-style kitchen, refinished original hardwood flooring, natural marble tile in the bathrooms, and walk-in closets.”
As with all of Smith’s projects, the house will keep its original historic charm, but will be brought up to code wherever necessary and updated with the modern features for which buyers are looking. Smith’s commitment to preserving historical details is what lead to the relationship between him and Small. When Smith first entered the Richmond market, Small stressed the importance of salvaging and restoring original materials such as molding, hard wood floors, doors and windows. Small expressed the value these original features hold to Richmond homebuyers.
Smith and Small met in 2011 when Smith noticed the prevalence of Small & Associates Real Estate signs all over central Richmond.
