Small Business Community Consultants, Inc. Helps Small Businesses Attain 26 Certifications in First Half of 2015
Chatsworth, CA (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Small Business Community (SBC) Consultants, Inc. has aided, through the first six months of the year, 16 Californian small businesses in applying for and receiving 26 certifications. Of these 26 certifications, two were for SBA 8(a) Business Development Program, two for SBA’s Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) and five were for State of California Small Business (SB). These certifications present new opportunities for bidding on an expanded number of federal contracts.
In order to increase participation of all types of businesses, the federal, state and local branches of government, as well as many large contractors, are required to give a percentage of their contracts to certified small businesses and companies that are owned by individuals of a group not historically represented in business dealings. Among the SBC Consultants, Inc. client roster, there was one Women Business Enterprise (WBE) awarded and four state Minority Business Enterprise State (MBE State) certifications granted in the first two quarters of 2015.
Also included in these 26 certifications were six METRO Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (METRO DBE) and six METRO Small Business Enterprise (METRO SBE) Certifications. A METRO DBE Certification verifies that the business is owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. A small business can receive METRO DBE/SBE certification through varying standards that are based on industry: specifications that SBC Consultants, Inc. assists entrepreneurs in understanding.
“Business owners have much more important things to spend time researching than investigating the latest regulations and government paperwork,” said Paul Mazbanian, founder of SBC Consultants, Inc. “Our goal is to be a resource and help companies who provide a valuable service to their communities to apply for and attain certifications in a stress-free way. This allows bidding on and winning contracts for sustained growth.”
SBC Consultants, Inc. regularly assists small businesses with federal and state certifications including but not limited to SBA 8(a) Business Development Program, Metro’s Disadvantaged and Small Businesses Enterprise (DBE/SBE), SBA’s Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), State of California Small Business (SB), WBENC’s Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and The Utilities Commission Minority/Women’s Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) certifications.
