Huntsville, TX (PRWEB) August 21, 2013 -- When Mari Montgomery has her own show on HGTV, it might be called “The Singing Realtor.” This Texas Top Agent celebrating her 5th anniversary in the business was blessed with a beautiful voice and vivacious spirit that she brings to everything TX Real Estate.
Mari recalls the love of all things real estate coursing through her veins from a very young age. Even at 9 years old, Mari was in charge of her family's house-hunting she recalls with a mischievous giggle, “I would sassy-pants around and tell my parents what houses to look at and why.” Through school, careers as a professional singer and choral director Mari stayed interested in the business, running comps on weekends “for fun” and analyzing information. "I always knew the average price per square foot in my neighborhood,” says Mari.
In August 2008, she realized that there was no rewind button on life and turned her lifelong passion into a career. This is when the real estate market tanked and only one month before Hurricane Ike devastated her region. Recalls Mari, “I closed my first house the day Hurricane Ike hit. Twelve hours later, a 70-foot tree was toppled by the winds and split the home in half!” What a beginning. As those around her asked “The market has crumbled, why are you giving up a steady paycheck?” She said “It's going to work, because I'm going to make it work.” As the market downturn began, she began stacking up successes.
Mari moved to Huntsville, TX in Walker, CO in 2006 to become the Huntsville High School Choral Director. She resigned in 2008 after leading her program to their first Sweepstakes award in more than 10 years. To achieve this objective in just two years Mari spent more time in the choir room than anywhere else, so her 2008 real estate prospect list consisted of two names including her Realtor and a friend who was "going to list her lot with another agent."
How did Mari do it? She enthusiastically took on listings that other agents might have overlooked, and showed property that no one else in the office wanted to show. And it paid off.
Now, Mari Realty is an individual, full service real estate brokerage with Mari serving as the Broker and two licensed agents, her husband Don Montgomery and oh, that friend that said she would list her lot with another agent, Sherri Barrett. By the way, Mari listed that lot and SOLD it in 15 days in a neighborhood where the average days on market for lots was 215 days in 2012 (per HAR). Then, Sherri came to work for her the next month.
How is Mari and Mari Realty different? She has embraced the area’s unique offerings, including farm and ranch land. “I love that I can go from showing an opulent waterfront home to putting on my red galoshes to list a farm and ranch property in the same day,” Mari says. Mari believes in serving every client with purpose, passion and integrity and her high percentage of referral clients is a testament to that service.
Mari is celebrating her five year anniversary in Real Estate and her second year in her beautiful new office, conveniently located on Interstate 45 in Huntsville across from Target.
While her rapidly growing business numbers are certainly impressive, there is one achievement that Montgomery values over others – the establishment of the Annual Mari Realty Music Scholarship at Sam Houston State University.
