Small Urban Ohio Charter School Nearly Doubles Math and Reading Proficiency through Increased Educator Training to Increase Educator Effectiveness
Salt Lake City (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- School Improvement Network, the leader in educator effectiveness resources, today announced a new case study showing how a small, urban charter school in Ohio nearly doubled student achievement in math and reading through increasing educator effectiveness with School Improvement Network’s personalized resources for educators.
“Just as students need personalized and differentiated learning to progressively build skills and mastery as they work towards graduation, educators also need personalized resources to help them continually refine and master their craft, increase their effectiveness, and help raise student achievement,” said Chet D. Linton, CEO and president of School Improvement Network. “To this end, we’ve spent over two decades traveling the world visiting thousands of classrooms and developing the resources educators need to have personalized professional learning that drives them towards success—all available in a scalable, on-demand format that any school or system can access.”
Through using School Improvement Network’s tools PD 360 (now known as Edivation) and Observation 360, Hope Academy Northwest Campus in Ohio increased student proficiency in reading from 34.8 percent to 61.5 percent among 8th graders. At the same time, student proficiency in math jumped from 47.8 percent to 80.8 percent.
Independent, peer-reviewed research shows other schools that have utilized Edivation and Observation 360 have experienced similar significant gains and spurred other school-related successes, such as decreased dropout rates, fewer discipline issues, and improved teacher retention.
