Smart Cow Yogurt Bar Celebrates $100,000 Donation Milestone With Complimentary Froyo Giveaway on Saturday, August 15th in Colorado and Wisconsin
Castle Rock, CO; Arvada, CO; Menomonee Falls, WI; Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- It’s not often that small businesses can make such a big difference in the world of education. But for Smart Cow Yogurt Bar, a frozen yogurt shop with locations in Colorado and Wisconsin, improving education has been their goal since day one. Since opening in 2011, Smart Cow has regularly donated money to schools as part of their unique Grassroots Tuesdays program. To celebrate their recent milestone of $100,000 in donations, they’re giving away froyo at each of their yogurt bar locations on Saturday, August 15th.
Families and friends are invited to enjoy up to 6 ounces of free frozen yogurt on Saturday, August 15th at Smart Cow Yogurt Bar’s locations in Castle Rock, CO; Arvada, CO; Menomonee Falls, WI; and their two locations in Green Bay, WI.
Smart Cow Yogurt Bar’s owner, Robyn Kuhlmann, says she was inspired by Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS Shoes and the person behind the idea of One for One®, a business model that helps a person in need with every product purchased.
“I saw programs in my kids’ school being cut, and I realized, like TOMS, we could do something to help. Why not give a portion of our proceeds back to neighborhood schools?” Kuhlmann said. “We’re amazed that the total has surpassed $100,000 in just four years. And it’s because people in our communities believe in what we’re doing.”
Each Smart Cow shop regularly donates part of a whole day’s sales to a local school. “We want to help as many schools as we can, because we know they work hard to make ends meet,” said Kuhlmann. “Our donations are used for everything from new technology to textbooks, playground equipment and field trips.”
Kuhlmann says that through the program, she has forged a strong connection with the schools and communities that have received the donations. She believes that these connections -- and the brand loyalty earned through them -- have helped Smart Cow remain strong despite a surge in competition and new froyo shops in her markets.
