Smarter Security to be Part of Cyber Security Panel Discussion at IAPSC Conference
Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Smarter Security, Inc., provider of premium, innovative entrance control and outdoor security solutions, will take part in a panel discussion regarding the interrelation between physical security and cyber security at next week’s IAPSC Annual Conference. This conference for security consultants addresses the latest and emerging challenges in the industry. This will be the first such gathering of these consultants after the unprecedented year of cyber attacks in 2014, and cyber security is a topic at the forefront.
Jeff Brown, CEO of Smarter Security, will speak as part of a panel session at the IAPSC Conference entitled “Access Control and Cyber Security – How do they Work Together?” In this session, happening Monday April 20 at 2:45pm, the speakers will discuss how access control is on the front lines of protecting corporate data, how organizations can address this element of cyber security defense, the implications for the tight security budget, and more. Joining Brown on the panel will be David Barnard, Director of Dealer Development of RS2 Technologies and Doug Pritchard, National Sales Manager for MorphoTrak, a world leader in biometric technologies. The panel will be moderated by Frank Pisciotta, CSC, President of Business Protection Specialists, Inc., an independent security consulting firm.
“Corporate data breaches have become routine and that is an unacceptable problem for industry in America,” said Brown. “Criminals from all over the world threaten our data centers and networks, and what’s true in many incidents is a weakness in physical security was exploited to aid in the hacking. As I.T. defenses are deployed, physical security, and particularly the efforts to control access to corporate facilities, must also be sharpened in a coordinated effort to present the strongest cyber security defense.”
The International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) is a 30-year-old organization that fosters an interactive community of consultants and seeks to establish and maintain the highest possible standards for professionalism and ethical conduct. The organization’s Annual Conference will be happening in Napa, California from April 19-22 at the Meritage Resort and Spa. Smarter Security regularly engages with security consultants on projects for lobby and perimeter security and is a sponsor of this conference. To learn more about the association or the event, visit https://iapsc.org.
