Flushing, New York (PRWEB) July 17, 2016 -- SmartPark LGA (affiliate of SmartPark JFK) is expanding and filling the void that the Port Authority created with the closure of approximately 3,000 parking spaces at LGA, as part of the 10 year “LaGuardia Redevelopment Vision,” as described by Governor Cuomo. SmartPark LGA is located approximately 2 miles from the terminals in Flushing, New York, directly off the Linden Place exit from the Whitestone Expressway.
According to Adam Smith, SmartPark President, the company has added a new parking facility to the SmartPark name with the opening of SmartPark LGA.
“We found that if you try and park at LaGuardia Airport that the lots are all at or near to full capacity,” Smith said. If you check their website http://www.laguardiaairport.com, it will show anywhere from 89% to 102% full or over capacity. He added that the new SmartPark LGA parking facility was developed with the intent to accommodate vehicles in need of LaGuardia Airport parking that the Port Authority's onsite lots cannot provide.
Smith said, due to the new construction at LaGuardia Airport, the increase in demand for parking spaces caused SmartPark to expedite plans to expand its brand into another airport market. SmartPark LGA was built to accommodate the growing parking needs for customers wanting/needing parking for LaGuardia Airport.
Avoid the The Parking-Lot Shuffle
According to LaGuardia Airport reports, officials stated that there has been a tremendous decrease in the number of parking spaces available to the public. Last year, LaGuardia had approximately 6,400 parking spaces; this year, that figure is down to approximately 4,000, a decrease of almost 35 percent, and more parking spaces are still needed.
Furthermore, Airport Parking will be limited and some roads will be closed or detoured. Customers are being urged to add additional travel time and find other means of getting to the airport.
