SmartScrubs Launches Payroll Deduction Option for Uniform Programs
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) August 19, 2015 -- As health care organizations increasingly move toward color-coded uniforms to improve brand identity and patient satisfaction, SmartScrubs® has launched a payroll deduction payment option as part of its group uniform programs. The feature, which allows employees to deduct uniform purchases from their paychecks, aims to make adherence to new dress code policies easier for staff and management.

The payroll deduction payment feature was first rolled out to employees of NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Florida following feedback from employees they’d like the ability to deduct uniform orders from their paychecks. NCH launched its new color-coded dress code in January 2015 and uses a SmartScrubs program to pay for a pre-determined number of uniform sets for 3,303 staff members. Employees are given the opportunity to purchase additional uniforms using the NCH online uniform portal provided by SmartScrubs.
NCH administrators developed a payroll deduction policy and require all employees to visit the custom website to accept the terms of the policy prior to ordering. The policy defines a monthly limit of payroll deduction purchases as well as how much money will be deducted per paycheck.
SmartScrubs expects this to be a popular option for health care organizations. As more adopt color-coded uniforms to help patients and visitors more easily identify caregivers, administrators are always looking for ways to make the dress code easy for employees to manage.
Since the feature was introduced, Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare has added payroll deduction to its SmartScrubs group uniform program. Lakeland Regional Health began its rollout last month.
