Smith & Associates Supports the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- Smith & Associates, the largest independent distributor of electronic components, today announces its participation in the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign. This initiative is devoted to advancing awareness of women’s growing heart health risks and advocating for more research to reduce heart disease and stroke in women.
The key element to this campaign is prevention through education. The American Heart Association’s 2015 Houston Go Red Luncheon on April 21 will be a significant event toward achieving this, with many participating community members gathering to share their insight on how to make changes in both health and communities. Smith & Associates is supporting this event as a Speak Red sponsor.
“We are extremely pleased to support the Go Red For Women campaign,” said Mark Bollinger, Smith’s Vice President of Marketing. “The American Heart Association’s efforts are vital toward spreading awareness and taking preventive measures to support health in our communities. From our employees to our families and neighbors, we want to help get the word out to protect lives and health.”
Smith will work to build on the momentum of its participation in the Go Red For Women campaign with the help of the American Heart Association. On April 22, AHA representatives will be conducting CPR training at Smith’s Houston headquarters, in concert with a health fair and biometric screening for employees.
“We are making our employees’ health a priority,” continued Mark. “From cities to workplaces, healthy individuals make healthy communities. We want to make every effort to support this.”
