Smith Publicity Offers $1,000 Scholarship for High School or College Students
Cherry Hill, NJ (PRWEB) January 23, 2014 -- Smith Publicity, one of the leading book marketing and book publicity firms in the publishing industry, is offering a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a high school or college/university student. The scholarship will be awarded to the student who submits the best essay on persuasive writing.
The essay should be no more than 1,500 words and must address the most essential elements of persuasive writing, a personal example of persuasion through writing, and a comparative analysis of the art of persuasion through writing versus verbal communication.
Applicants must include a cover sheet including address, e-mail and phone number.
Essays are due by March 1, 2014 and the winner will be announced by April 2, 2014. Smith Publicity senior staff members will evaluate the essays and select the winner.
This one-time scholarship award will be paid on the student’s behalf directly to the college or university the student will be or is attending.
“Writing is such an important skill for young people, particularly persuasive writing,” says Smith Publicity CEO Dan Smith. “As book publicity firm, every day we try to persuade media to take interest in our authors, so the scholarship program is a natural fit. We’re looking forward to helping a student attend or continue attending college by reducing their tuition burden.”
