Snake River Sporting Club Announces New Lodging Development & Hot Springs Park
Jackson Hole, WY (PRWEB) February 03, 2016 -- Snake River Sporting Club, Jackson Hole’s foremost private club and residential community for sporting and outdoor enthusiasts, is pleased to announce its first offering of overnight accommodations. Following an 18-month process, the club recently received approval from the Teton County Board of Commissioners for new developments on the club’s land, including the re-zoning of parcels to allow short-term and overnight rentals on property. Snake River Sporting Club‘s plan for overnight accommodations significantly expands the destination’s hospitality offering and allows more guests and members to visit and enjoy the rugged wilderness of Jackson Hole.
The County’s approval also moves forward a highly anticipated effort to restore one of Jackson’s most beloved, historic hot springs. The Trust for Public Land, a national non-profit conservation organization, has begun work reopening Astoria Hot Springs Park, a favorite recreational spot that has lain dormant for 17 years. Located adjacent to the Club on the north end the property, the hot springs operated for more than 40 years as a public swimming pool before closing in 1999.
“Achieving zoning approval from Teton County for our lodging expansion, in addition to the restoration of Astoria Hot Springs as a public park, solidifies the club as a development that is not only willing, but excited to work with the community in many ways. It also adds a significant amenity, allowing for overnight access to this private setting and unique in-holding within the Bridger Teton National Forest,” says Jeff Heilbrun, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Snake River Sporting Club. “We look forward to creating more lodging opportunities for visitors seeking an authentic western experience, with exponential growth plans to add more accommodations by end of year.”
A selection of residential-style accommodations is currently available for overnight stays. From a rustic Sporting Cabin – secluded for privacy with expansive views overlooking Wolf Mountain and the famed Snake River – to designer-furnished, 4-bedroom Tall Timber Cabins, guests enjoy the perfect balance of comfort and luxury along with exclusive access to the club’s private amenities and recreational pursuits. Overnight rates start at $500 per night for the Sporting Cabin and $5,000 per week in the Tall Timber Cabins.
This summer will also see the return of Snake River Sporting Club’s relationship with Orvis and Jackson Hole Fly Fishing School. Following a successful 2015 Summer/Fall season, the club will once again host the Orvis Fly Fishing School – Jackson Hole, a series of one-day and two-day intensive classes that combine classroom programming with on-stream instruction on the Club’s six-miles of private access to the Snake River. Led by Orvis Fly Fishing Instructor Spencer Morton, the classes will be open to fly fishing enthusiasts from around the globe beginning June 2016.
The courses run throughout Summer and Fall 2016, offering an in-depth exploration of fly fishing fundamentals and techniques, including tying essential knots, choosing gear and tackle, proper fly selection, reading water and currents and general entomology.
