SoapSox® Founders to appear on ‘Shark Tank’ on ABC
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 02, 2014 -- SoapSox founders and fathers, Ray Philips and Alvin Uy, will appear on ABC’s critically-acclaimed business-themed show, Shark Tank on Friday, October 3 at 8 p.m. -9 p.m. (MST).
Philips and Uy will try to convince the business-savvy panel of the Tank to invest in the company so that it can expand collection of unique, soft, and colorful characters that make bathing fun for kids and easier for parents. “We are honored to get a chance to take our dreams into reality by appearing on Shark Tank,” says Philips. “SoapSox was recently awarded a Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association 2014 Innovation Award in the Play/entertainment Category at one of the largest trade shows in the country and has been gaining in popularity among parents and kids. Initial funding will allow us to expand our bath characters, along with creating new products when it comes to bath time fun.”
Designed as a washcloth alternative, SoapSox looks to increase parent-child bonding and smiles at bath time. SoapSox which comes in characters such as a gator or duck or other animal has a unique entry point for liquid or bar soap that makes squeezing soap and bath time sheer fun. SoapSox also has finger pockets for better handling, come in a variety of great colors, and are machine-washable. The exterior “skin” is made of traditional terrycloth, while the interior of a SoapSox consists of an anti-microbial sponge which extends the life of suds.
Ray Phillips first conceptualized SoapSox while working with children in a residential treatment facility. After finding out about a child who was scared and hadn’t bathed for a week, he noticed a stuffed animal in his hand and asked him about it. The child indicated that he didn’t want to shower because his stuffy would get wet. He then shared the idea with Alvin Uy, another dad and SoapSox was born.
Shark Tank provides budding entrepreneurs with the chance to make their dreams come true and possibly make a business deal that will make them a millionaire. The show has become the top rated show in its time slot and is the number one family viewed television show.
