Social Media Strategies Summit Amsterdam Confirms Yelp and Cloetta Case Studies
Amsterdam, Netherlands (PRWEB) April 01, 2014 -- The Social Media Strategies Summit (SMSS), coming to Amsterdam 18-19 June, is a two day social media event, focused on helping businesses learn to build and execute a social media strategy. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with other social media specialists and digital marketers across industries.
Featured speakers Philippine Wouters and Rosie Akenhead of Yelp will be giving a case study presentation on community building. Philippine, Senior Community Manager at Yelp, is responsible for building the Yelp brand and growing an active and enthusiastic Yelp community in the city. In her role as Senior CM, she also trains and coaches several other European Yelp Community Managers. Rosie Akenhead, Manager of Local Business Reach at Yelp, works directly with businesses to identify best practice strategies for online reviewing, social media and reputation management.
Philippine and Rosie’s talk will include the do’s and don’ts of building a community on social media based on their extensive experience at Yelp, how to harness client insights, and how to maximize “fans” vs “followers”. "Community Management is a 'hip' word nowadays, but knowing how to get started and make the most of it is tougher than you'd imagine,” says Philippine. “In our session, we'll share tips on community and also online customer service.” Attendees can review full session details here.
SMSS Amsterdam also features Bas Komen, Social Media & Digital Director at Cloetta, who will be giving a keynote presentation on how Cloetta, manufacturer of chocolate products, chewing gum & nuts, has made the transition to a conversation company.
Bas is passionate about social, direct and online marketing. He’s an internationally experienced online marketing professional, has managed multicultural teams and has in-depth knowledge of direct marketing, eCommerce, eCRM, customer lifecycle management, social media and communities. In his session, Bas will give key insights into how to build up a social media organization, set it up for success, and how to measure consumer conversations and turn them into insights and action. “To accelerate growth via social media you first need to have the basics in place,” says Bas about his talk. Brands need to “embed social media ‘ways of working’ deep into their organization by bringing in passionate community managers, truly listening to consumers to gain insights, and (co)creating content that is unique to their brand.” Based on his extensive experience as a marketer and his work at Cloetta, Bas will be covering best practices in these areas and more during his keynote.
