Aliso Viejo, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Soka Performing Arts Center has announced the performers for the 2013 Soka International Jazz Festival, coming September 27, 28 & 29, 2013. The International Jazz Festival, produced in cooperation with BluePort Jazz, is returning for the third year. “Jazz is especially vibrant with the fine acoustics in Soka Performing Arts Center,“ noted David Palmer, General Manager of the Center. “We’re looking forward to offering some of the top jazz musicians in the world in four shows over three days – with eight great sets!”
Stephanie Haynes, vocalist, with Karen Hammack on piano will open the Festival on Friday, September 27th at 8 pm, followed by the Delfeayo Marsalis Octet performing music from “Sweet Thunder.”
Saturday’s double concert program begins at 3 pm on September 28th with the Anthony Wilson B3 Organ Trio with Joe Bagg on the Hammond B3 and Mark Ferber on drums, followed by the Matt Slocum Trio. Then at 8 pm, the Delfeayo Marsalis Octet returns, along with the Anthony Wilson Trio with Kornel Fekete-Kovacs, who will be flying in from Hungary for this special evening.
The International Jazz Festival will conclude on Sunday, September 29th at 3 pm with Walter Smith III, followed by a jam-session led by Matt Slocum with special guests.
