Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 01, 2013 -- Soliant Health, a leading specialty healthcare staffing provider and part of Adecco Group, is proud to name LeConte Medical Center of Sevierville, Tenn. as the Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S. of 2013.
For the fifth year in a row, Soliant Health turned to hospital staff, patients, and supporters for help in choosing the top 20 hospitals worthy of “Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S.” distinction. With a process slightly different from previous years, the winners rested entirely on voters’ hands, as Soliant Health decided to bypass input from a panel of expert reviewers in selecting the nominees.
More than 100,000 votes later, LeConte Medical Center claimed victory with its “mountain modern” theme, Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services, and 79 private patient rooms, each with its own beautiful mountain view. Built with materials native to the state, the hospital campus sits in perfect harmony with the historic town’s setting: the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
“We’re honored to have been named the Most Beautiful Hospital in America! The beauty at LeConte is more than just this beautiful building – it’s seen daily in the excellent care provided to our patients by our employees, staff, and volunteers,” said Ellen Wilhoit, president and chief administrative officer of LeConte Medical Center. “Our building was designed by our healthcare team and community with the patient and family in mind. This created a wonderful environment that promotes healing.”
Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, LeConte Medical Center was designed to be a truly functional workspace, focusing on patient flow and ease of access to medical services. Financial support from Sevier County’s own residents helped develop this facility which included the county’s first cancer survival center. Prior to its opening in 2010, cancer patients had to drive over 40 miles to Knoxville, the closest city offering chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
“The aesthetics of a health care facility can indicate that it is well taken care of, but it can also indicate that their patients are too. As a provider of healthcare professionals for hospitals, we realize that aesthetics, along with attention to patients’ needs, are critical to patients' happiness,” said David Alexander, president of Soliant Health. “LeConte Medical Center is a prime example of a facility that recognized this link and made the most of it.”
LeConte Medical Center is no stranger to the top 20, taking the #3 spot in 2012 and #6 spot in 2011. All top 20 hospitals garnered an incredible amount of support from supporters who voted tirelessly during the competition’s almost two-month long process.
