Somewhere Over the Rainbow LLC: "Because they Lived.." a Call for Story Submissions on Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Manchester, NJ (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- Four years ago on September 21, 2009, Katy Larsen delivered a stillborn baby girl, Hannah Katherine. Katy's life was completely flipped upside down, along with her husband and young son's. What Katy decided to do in her grief lead down a path to hope and healing, a rainbow and a shop (Somewhere Over the Rainbow LLC) which exists to support those affected by that same grief; by the grief of Pregnancy and Infant Loss.
Katy is the author of two books, "Mental Reflections" and "Whispers from the Well", and is now working on her third title, "Because they Lived".
"It is a book that will represent the 1 in 4 women affected by Pregnancy and Infant Loss. I am opening up a call for submissions to families who wish to share the story of their child(ren). Many wonderful organizations and businesses exist today 'because they lived' and sharing this hope with other families in different stages of their grief journeys is very important and very close to my heart," Katy says.
Proceeds from this book will be used to donate them for inclusion to organizations which distribute memory boxes, to send them to families that are learning to navigate this new normal, used to gift items to families in need and to spread awareness on Pregnancy and Infant Loss.
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Submissions will be accepted by e-mail until October 7, 2013. The goal is to have the book into print by October 15, 2013.
"October 15 is known as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, marked by the International Wave of Light. Each family lights a candle at 7 pm in their respective time zone and leaves it burning for at least one hour. This will result in a constant 'Wave of Light' across the globe in this 24 hour period. It is to remember the lives of those babies lost."
