Songs To Educate's "Human Body School" Songs Get Folks Dancing In New York Cafe
(PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- Collaboration with schools around the world is one of the missions of Songs To Educate. Schools in the United States, Canada, Israel, England, Australia and South Africa have adopted their integrated song and movement arts programs to supplement a vibrant range of studies from the Human Body to the Solar System.
The teaching artistry of Songs To Educate, Talking Hands Talking Feet has been promoting young people's arts integrated education through song and movement since 1997. One of their most valued collaborations began in 2001 with an education and environmental stewardship organization in New York State called "Something Good In The World".
Through the month of April, Something Good In The World's Earth School For Homeschoolers has a Human Body interactive art exhibit in the Peekskill Coffee House. For their opening day, songs from Talking Hands Talking Feet's newest album called “Human Body School” was played for all who visited the cafe.
As the Director of Something Good In The World said in a post to parents and students, "The art show opening reception was pure fun. I loved it especially accompanied by the 'Human Body School' music of Talking Hands Talking Feet (which by the way is coming out on CD soon). My favorite was seeing customers and coffee house staff dancing around to the music."
About the art exhibit itself, she continues, "Each installation of the exhibit describes and demonstrates one of the human body systems, whether cardiovascular or respiratory, etc., as well as the senses. So what's amazing and beautiful is how certain 'Human Body School' songs match these exactly. If we could have, I would have loved to have mounted CD players with headphones, so that visitors to the exhibit could sit and listen to the music while viewing each aspect of the exhibit...It's at the Peekskill Coffee House throughout the month of April - so don't miss it!"
Collaboration with alternative education programs around the world is a primary goal of Songs To Educate. The online resource allows teachers and parents to download education kits which include songs, instructional movement videos, lyrics, chords and experiential lesson plans.
"The example of Something Good In The World is so encouraging," says Paul Zeir, cofounder of Songs To Educate. "It is about visionary educators adopting our songs to supplement their curriculum, giving young lives an enhanced learning opportunity."
