Source Power & Gas Makes The Holidays Bright For Local Houston Area Children
Sugar Land, TX (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Source Power & Gas (Source) brightened the holidays by giving back to two local charities during the month of December.
On #GivingTuesday, Source Power & Gas announced that it would give back to the community with a campaign devoted to Kids’ Meals, Inc., a Houston charity devoted to ending child hunger. Source started off by making a contribution to Kids’ Meals, Inc., in addition to donating $1.00 for every Facebook “Like” Source received during the month of December. By the end of the campaign, $1,127.00 – the equivalent of 664 meals – was donated to Kids’ Meals, Inc.
“#GivingTuesday points a spotlight on the role and importance of giving, and we were eager to help give back during the holidays,” said Source Power & Gas President John Werner. “It is easy to get wrapped up in material possessions and getting the best deals during the holidays. Here at Source though, we’re focused on our community and those that need our help.”
Source Power & Gas is dedicated to helping relieve hunger in the community. Just last month, they donated a total of $2,936.01 to the Houston Food Bank in Houston, TX and the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, TX.
Source Power & Gas also joined forces with The Houston Children’s Charity in December to participate in their annual Adopt a Family program. Source sponsored a family of five local children for holiday gifts.
Chief Operating Officer Qadir Khan said, “With the help of others, we have made an impact in our community. It doesn’t stop there with us though. Our job to better our community is never done.”
In the past, Source Power & Gas has also made contributions to charities through their donations and the volunteering of employee time, including the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston SPCA, and the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.
