SourceMedia Appoints New Capital Markets Group Leadership Team
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- SourceMedia – a B2B information and marketing solutions company focused on the financial services industry – today announced the promotions of Harry Nikpour to Vice President, Capital Markets, and of Michael Ballinger to Publisher of The Bond Buyer, the company’s flagship publication covering the U.S. municipal bond market.
The new leadership team brings extensive experience in managing paid-subscription information resources, as well as in developing strategic marketing programs that serve client needs. These capabilities are well aligned with SourceMedia’s strategic focus on expanding digital and marketing solutions activities and growing subscription revenues.

Nikpour brings more than 15 years of experience in financial information publishing. He rejoined SourceMedia in 2011 as Capital Markets Group Advertising Director and Publisher of Mergers & Acquisitions, the company’s magazine and online resource covering middle market deal-making.
Under his leadership, Mergers & Acquisitions – published in partnership with the Association for Corporate Growth –nearly tripled its revenues. Nikpour was the founder of DealMaker Portal, a website and database company that facilitates targeted searches for professionals in the mergers and acquisitions industry. He earlier served as Associate Publisher of The Deal and, in a previous stint at SourceMedia, managed Money Management Executive, a news service focusing on the mutual-fund industry.
Ballinger is a 25-year veteran of the municipal bond industry who served in senior marketing management roles at several bond insurance companies before joining The Bond Buyer as National Sales Manager in 2010. In that role, he expanded the brand’s digital capabilities and launched numerous new products and innovative partnerships, including an annual report on “Trailblazing Women in Public Finance” in cooperation with the Northeast Women in Public Finance. Prior to joining The Bond Buyer, he was Managing Director and Head of Corporate Communications at CIFG, and earlier held a similar role at MBIA Inc.
The promotions fill the vacancy created by the departure of Michael Stanton, who had held the position of SVP, Capital Markets since 2008. In November, Stanton will join Build America Mutual (BAM), the bond insurance company, as Head of Corporate Strategy and Communications.
