Jacksonville, Fla. (PRWEB) December 23, 2014 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces its soon-to-be-available SIG University, a three-tiered certification program.
SIG University (SIG U) is designed for sourcing and outsourcing professionals of all levels wishing to further their knowledge and supplement their real-world experience with best practice virtual classroom training. The program offers three levels of industry certification: associate, professional and executive, and will include over 400 hours of online training. Select modules can also be accessed independently to supplement university curriculum for students in Supply Chain Masters programs as well as professionals wishing to enhance their expertise.
The program will launch at the SIG Global Executive Summit taking place March 10-12, 2015 in Amelia Island, Florida with one complete module. The entire associate level certification curriculum, consisting of close to twenty modules, will be available at the beginning of the second quarter of 2015 with the additional levels launching later in the year.
“Our members have been asking for more training education for many years,” said Dawn Evans, SIG President and CEO. “Existing certification programs are geared exclusively at more junior level professionals—little has been available to those in middle or senior management. SIG University will provide comprehensive training for all points in a sourcing professional’s career.” Sarah Holliman, SIG Vice President of Marketing added, “We have been working with a trained educator to build the program and are tapping into the expertise of some of the most senior executives in our membership to build the content. We cannot wait to be able to share this important initiative with the sourcing community.”
