South Burlington School District, Vermont, Selects Infinite Campus
Blaine, Minn. (PRWEB) November 30, 2016 -- Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. (Custom), the Northeast Channel Partner for Infinite Campus, announced that the South Burlington School District (SBSD) selected Infinite Campus as its student information system (SIS). The district chose Infinite Campus to reduce the need for third-party systems, increase data security and consolidate reporting.
Steve Walker, the district’s IT Systems Director, said their legacy system wasn’t getting the job done. “It didn’t perform many of the functions we need, like connecting to our learning management system, so information couldn’t be transferred between the programs. Reporting functions were clunky, and there were limitations with report cards.”
Walker conducted a survey with staff members to gather feedback after reviewing multiple SIS vendors. “Infinite Campus fit better with our education philosophy overall. The product seemed more intuitive and user friendly than the other systems we considered,” he said.
Since Infinite Campus SIS includes special education tools in the core product, SBSD can eliminate their third-party system and reduce duplicate data entry. “We appreciate that Campus is a single, integrated solution,” said Walker. “I wanted a product where we’re dealing with one company and all of the systems tie in, and Infinite Campus offered that.”
The district will benefit from additional data security than their legacy SIS offered, and the ability to audit and analyze its data within Infinite Campus. This will allow SBSD to consolidate reports and better understand the overall impact a data change has on records. With 200 in-house developers, Infinite campus can assure the district will always stay ahead of changing educational requirements.
Ongoing service and support will be handled by Custom’s dedicated Infinite Campus team. The district is scheduled to go live in July 2017.
