Southern New Hampshire University Partners with WT3 to Provide Education, Training and Job Placement to Military Service Members
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- Further reinforcing its commitment to military personnel, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) has partnered with Warrior Transition Technology Training (WT3), an organization dedicated to placing returning service members in technology positions at Fortune 500 companies. The new concentration in database administration focuses on the development, implementation and administration of database systems – including an understanding of database languages. Additionally, the coursework includes materials and training exercises from Oracle Academy, which are designed to provide a pathway for students to take the Oracle DBA certification exams. With the market for database administrators expected to grow 15% between by 2022*, certification holders will be in great demand.
“Given the amount of underemployment and unemployment among returning service members, we hope that our relationship with WT3 will help close this gap,” explained retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Gary Soldato, AVP, military initiatives at SNHU. “With SNHU providing the technology education and training, and WT3 assisting with job placement opportunities, we’re really focused on improving the military transition to civilian life.”
Specifically for military students, WT3 will deliver Information Technology career guidance, cover the cost of the exams, and provide job placement assistance upon graduation. In fact, five SNHU students have already secured database administration positions at leading corporations before graduating during the initial phases of this program.
“Our mission is to provide our deserving returning Military Service Members with guidance, practical information technology training, certification, and the right career path in the right industry,” said Chris Nichol, Co-Founder, WT3. “Our effort is focused within the information technology sector because that’s where the job growth is happening and the veterans’ skills are a great match.”
