SouthGroup Insurance Services Will Hold Sixth Annual 5K Run/Walk February 15th, 2014
Ridgeland, MS (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- SouthGroup Insurance Services is hosting its sixth annual “Make a Difference 5K Run/Walk” and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, February 15th. The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-Mile Run will start at 9:30 a.m. Door prizes will be awarded, including at least two children’s bicycles. Packets may be picked up the day of the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. The race will be held at the Woodlands Office Park in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
The agency is providing four ways to register for the 5K including dropping off registration forms at 795 Woodlands Parkway, Suite 101, SouthGroup’s main location in Ridgeland, MS or by online registration, which must be completed by February 13. Those wishing to participate may also mail in their registration forms by February 7. There will be an option to register on race day which will begin at 7:30 a.m. Fees for the 5K are $20 before race day and $25 on race day, while fees for the 1-Mile Fun Run will be $10 before race day and $15 on race day.
The event will benefit the Friends of Children’s Hospital for the Baston’s Children’s Hospital at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. The Baston Children’s Hospital is Mississippi’s only hospital designed and equipped especially for the care and treatment of sick and injured children. The Baston Children’s Hospital prioritizes children’s care and places emphasis on the special needs of hospitalized children.
Awards for each race will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers of different male and female age groups. Children who complete the 1-Mile Fun Run will each be presented with an award. Teams and groups will also be encouraged to participate.
