SPAR Point Group Announces Webinar Series on Building Documentation
Portland, Maine (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 -- SPAR Point Group today announced their partnership with the U.S. Institute of Building Documentation (USIBD) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) to present the three-part webinar series “Existing Building Documentation for Owners.” The free webinar series will feature building documentation challenges and case studies from facilities owners. “This collaboration is excellent news for Asset Owners and Facilities Managers,” said Lisa Murray, SPAR Point Group Director. “For the first time, these three organizations are coming together to deliver the latest technology and workflow solutions to building owners. The goal of the webinar series is to bridge owners’ and service providers’ understanding of current and newer building documentation applications for facilities lifecycle planning including GIS, Point Clouds, BIM, and other data collection, authoring and management tools. Also included will be current standards, processes, workflows and technologies and how these can be integrated to meet owners’ downstream needs.

1. What Owners Need to Know About Getting their Existing Building Documented
Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time
This webinar will include presentations from industry leading service and technology providers with broad experiences with 3D Imaging/laser scanning/disto laser measuring tools and technology, as well as best practices and lessons learned. Also included, will be a brief summary of how IFMA, USIBD and SPAR are working together to achieve these goals.
2. What Building Owners and Managers Really Need from Building Documentation and How Service Providers Can Best Deliver, from the Owner’s Perspective
Wednesday, October 15, 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time
This presentation will illustrate the downstream benefits of 3D capture as part of an overall facilities and data management strategy.
3. Review of the Many Available Standards and Some Next-Generation Workflows and Technologies Wednesday, December 17, 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time
This webinar will review the many available standards and some next-generation workflows and technologies. Additionally, it will cover the realities of how GIS, Point Clouds, BIM, and other various data collection, authoring and management tools are being used to facilitate meaningful data – and more importantly, how that data becomes information.
